Wednesday of this week, I woke at 4am to prepare to leave for the Jekyll Island 4H Center with a bunch of 7th graders. We returned last night (Friday) at 8:30 pm. It was L O N G and super busy, but fun! I learned so much Science stuff (which usually isn't my thing at all), and I really enjoyed being with the kids outside of the classroom.
While I was gone, Bird was such a good boy for his Daddy. Today, however, he's a bit fussy. I'm sure his ears hurt. Good thing he's having tubes put in this Wednesday. I'm having to miss the last day of school, so I wont' get to say bye to my kids, but that's probably a good thing. This will reduce the crying.
I have mixed emotions about finishing up my last year teaching and getting ready to stay at home full time. I know staying at home is what I am called to do, and I am so excited to be with my little JBird. At the same time, though, I will definitely miss teaching, interacting with the students, and having "adult time" each day. On the other hand, my Pampered Chef business is going really well, so between that and Bird, I know I'll stay pretty busy. Like I said - mixed emotions.
For now, I AM looking forward to field day on Monday. I am NOT looking forward to packing up my classroom.
You're braver than I too go on that trip, girl! If it makes you feel any better, I too, will be packing up my classroom and moving it down the hall this week. I've been in the same classroom for 7 of my 8 years at WC. Next year will be full of changes...New room, new principal, no AP, no counselor, and I'll only be teaching math! That's right, we are departmentalizing in kindergarten next year!
ReplyDeleteYou'll get plenty of adult time selling Pampered Chef! I know you will enjoy staying at home. We'll be praying for Jackson on Wednesday. I'm sure the tubes will be a big help!
You probably won't miss it as much as you think you will. :) I'm excited for you! Do you plan on being a "playdate" mom? :)
